Presentation of the book

On Monday 8th of July the Italian Embassy to the Holy See hosted at Palazzo Borromeo the presentation of the book “Bakhita. Il fascino di una donna libera” by Roberto Italo Zanini, to recall the extraordinary nature of the African Saint, who dedicated her earthly life to her neighbors, in a deep sense of solidarity towards suffering humanity.
The event was also an opportunity to reflect on the plague of human trafficking. Speeches by the author Roberto Italo Zanini, Marcello Semeraro, Bishop of Albano and Secretary of the Council of Cardinals, Mother Sandra Maggiolo, General Councilor of the Daughters of Charity of Canossian, Rita Pinci, Coordinator of the Board of Directors of “Women Church World” - the monthly insert of ‘Osservatore Romano’ - and Mario Marazziti, representative of the Community of Sant'Egidio, followed over during the event.
The meeting was moderated by journalist Giovanni Tortorolo.
