Conference "Justice and Mercy"

The Embassy of Italy to the Holy See hosted on June  15 the conference "Justice and Mercy", promoted by the "Conference of Culture Maria Cristina di Savoia". The conference has recorded a high number of participants, including members of the clergy, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Holy See and civil society.

The Ambassador of Italy to the Holy See, Daniele Mancini, recalled in his intervention how the theme of Mercy is common to all religions, but it assumes a unique and particular significance in Christianity. The entire evangelical message could be summed up in the concept of mercy, which exemplifies an idea of ‚Äč‚Äčlove and justice capable of overcoming mistakes and injuries, hence moving away from the canons of severity and condemns widespread in contemporary society. Mercy, in accordance with the extraordinary Jubilee proclaimed by Pope Francis, is therefore the best response to the widespread ethical relativism and values, which accompanies the lack of hope in times of difficulties and crises.
