Conference: “Assisi- Collevalenza”. Two great sources of regeneration

The Italian Embassy to the Holy See hosted on 16th of June the presentation of the book “Assisi Collevalenza. Due grandi sorgenti per rigenerarsi” edited by the Umbrian Section of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem and published by Fabrizio Fabbri. The event was attended by a conspicuous number of participants, including several members of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher and of the clergy and representatives of the diplomatic community and civil society.

The Ambassador of Italy to the Holy See, Daniele Mancini, introduced the event. Speeches were delivered by H.E. Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti, Metropolitan Archbishop of Perugia and Prior of the Umbrian Section of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, H.E. Monseigneur Domenico Cancian, Bishop of Città di Castello , Father Pietro Messa, Member of the Franciscan Order and the editor of book, Alberto Pasqualoni.

The interventions highlighted the value of the work, especially in the holy year of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, focusing on the true nature of “jubilees”, as well as on the meaning of the Holy Doors. The speakers described meaningful events of the lives of Saint Francis from Assisi and Maria Esperanza of Jesus, founder of the Handmaids of Merciful Love, both of them originating from Umbria, defined by Cardinal Bassetti as “the hearth full of Mercy of Our Nation”.
