Italian Summer Festival with Umbria Jazz

The Italian Summer Festival, the international showcase of Italian festivals promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through its Foreign Network, is enriched with new events that will be broadcast live streaming all over the world thanks to the collaboration with Umbria Jazz, one of the most important jazz festivals on the Italian and international scene.

It starts Sunday, July 19, 2020 with the initiative “Jazz goes to University” that brings in the Cloister of the Rectorate of the University of Perugia the concert “Music and Nature. Two for Tree and Orchestra”: an extraordinary event with Paolo Fresu, Daniele di Bonaventura and the Chamber Orchestra of Perugia.

In line with the commitments and actions undertaken with a view to environmental sustainability, Umbria Jazz presents a truly atypical concert, with the two musicians playing sitting on the branches of a cedar tree and the orchestra arranged around it, in an unusual, nocturnal interaction between trumpet, bandoneon and stormir di fronde.

The concert will be broadcast live streaming and will be available for free worldwide on demand for the next 12 hours on https://www.umbriajazz.it/live/ mae visualizza file 3

The collaboration will continue with the international promotion of new concerts that will be presented by Umbria Jazz as part of “Jazz in August” (Perugia, 7-10 August 2020).

The initiative is promoted by MAECI as part of measures to support cultural and creative enterprises and the international relaunch of Italy, focusing on the country’s profound vocation for culture, entertainment, and beauty.
