Conference “Our daily Bread”

On 17th April 2019, the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See hosted the conference “Our Daily Bread” to address the issue of famine and malnutrition from a social, ethical and solidarity point of view.

On the occasion, it was underlined how food is a key issue in Christianity and how the encyclical “Laudato Sì” reiterates its social and ecological aspects. Ambassador Sebastiani illustrated the Italian primacy in the food sector, in particular in the attention that Italy gives to the quality and the care of the territory, highlighting the social, ethical and solidarity aspects that bind Italy to food.

During the conference, Manuela Tulli, Roberto Alborghetti, Lidia Borzi, Cesare Marinoni, Mario Lubetkin and Massimo Arcangeli, underlined the need to pursue the goals set by the Agenda 2030 to overcome the conditions that lead to famine and to strengthen the synergy between public and private.
