Conference “Pirro Ligorio and the Roman buildings of Palazzo Borromeo and Palazzo Lancellotti”

On 12th March 2019, the Italian Embassy to the Holy See hosted the conference “Pirro Ligorio and the Roman buildings of Palazzo Borromeo and Palazzo Lancellotti”. During the conference some significant works of restoration and enhancement of Palazzo Borromeo, realized with the relevant contribution and the synergy between the private and the public sector, were presented.

Among them, the innovative lighting project created by ENEL X, which was aimed at enhancing sustainability and the architectural heritage of Palazzo Borromeo through the installation of 180 LED light points; the restoration of the entire facade facing Via Flaminia overseen by the Archaeological Superintendence of Fine Arts and Landscape of Rome; and the construction of a rainwater disposal network on the roof of the Palace by REAM SGR Company.

During the conference Professor Daria Borghese, Professor Christoph Luitpold Frommel, the architect Enzo Pinci and Professor Strinati illustrated various aspects of the architectural heritage of Pirro Ligorio.
